We take to FCA's Chelsea, MI proving grounds to sample the entire Ram range, towing everything from 2,000 pounds to a CDL-requiring, 31,000-plus pounds.

Ram and Sports Illustrated celebrate freedom by recreating Emanuel Leutze's "Washington Crossing the Delaware" in the only way they know how: With swimsuit models and a pickup truck. (The resulting video may not be strictly safe for work, though.)
The 2016 Ram Laramie Limited debuting at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show doesn't even try to hide its position as the top trim for the pickup, with massive emblems at the front and rear. Inside, it pampers passengers in Natura Plus leather.
Ram has updated its extremely luxurious Laramie Limited for the Chicago Auto Show, unveiling a Ram Rebel-inspired exterior and revised cabin.
The newly unveiled Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE model brings the fullsize pickup closer than ever to 30 miles per gallon fuel economy. Thanks to the right mix of aerodynamics-improving measures, the model boosts the mileage of the standard diesel version to 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city and 24 mpg combined. Its 3.0-liter diesel V6 still makes 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque and routes through the brand's eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel shot out of the gate with strong sales by filling its initial allocation of 8,000 orders in just three days, in February. At the time, Ram expected that the oil-burning variant would account for around 10 percent of 1500 output, but it knew there was room to grow if the demand was there. Apparently it is, as the truck maker is doubling the diesel's production mix for the 2015 model year to 20 percent of the pickup's total volume.
Thanks to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), when car shoppers look at horsepower and torque figures on vehicles, they know that all the automakers are calculating them the same way. However, that isn't the case when it comes to truck buyers and max towing capacity ratings because each company figures the value differently. That practice finally changes with the SAE's standardized J2807 system, though, and Ram Truck is the first one to apply the new test procedure to its entire light- an
The crew at PickupTrucks.com has been busy lately. In addition to wrapping up its global pickup shootout in Australia, the site also took the time to pit four factory off-road kings against each other. After extending invitations to every manufacturer to send out their most capable pickup, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, Toyota Tacoma Baja, Ram Power Wagon and Ford F-150 SVT Raptor all showed up to play. General Motors, meanwhile, declined to join the party.
It's probably a toss-up as to what's worse about life at the top: the loneliness or the rocks that everyone throws at you. Chevrolet recently took aim at Ford with a humorous Super Bowl commercial that not only took the unusual step of calling Ford out by name, but made claims about the segment that Ford didn't find funny at all.
