Data-collecting ocean drone. Open Ocean Robotics created this tiny solar-powered boat to keep an eye on water conditions. Data Xplorer is an Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV). Designed to use its sensors to measure weather, waves, depth, water temperatures, and more. There is also a 360-degree camera to monitor surface conditions and illegal activities. The USV can operate autonomously or be controlled by remote from “anywhere in the world.” Data Xplorer was designed for use in coastal waters or the open ocean.
