Here's the latest iteration of BMW's M mode presets.

Transcript

- Mode madness is one common complaint in a ton of sports cars these days, especially German. This is what I'm talking about, right here. All of these different modes.

However, BMW, for a long time-- and still do-- have a solution for this issue. And it is right over here on the steering wheel. These little fancy M1 and M2 buttons that allow you to preset a-- a selection of different modes that you like. So press M1-- see the little M1 in-- in the cluster. And then over here, you can see it preset a selection of modes.

So this is a pretty good one for driving around when you still want to have some fun, but still want to be comfortable with the chassis and comfort. And so you can do that with two different settings, M1 and M2. So I can also press M2, and boom. And now, looks like M2 was customized to bring M dynamic mode up, as well.

So you have pretty much everything in its sportiest setting right here. So to actually customize these modes, you have to go into your infotainment screen here-- your I drive interface. Go to car. And you have this fancy little sub menu called M menu. And then here you have your configure M1 and configure M2.

So here's where you can roll through all of the different, you know, various settings here. So engine, transmission, chassis, steering, brake, DSC, M xDrive, start/stop, and the sound control. That should just always be on by default. But Yeah, no. So you can switch the engine around. Throw that into sport plus.

Say you want-- oh, you want to stiffen the shocks up a little bit-- sport, cool. Yeah. We want to keep stability control on. And let's say we don't want the car turning off. It stops for us. Boom. OK. So there you go. You have all of your settings there.

And you back on out of that. And you can go ahead and press your M1 button then. And we can check out our modes. And it's exactly what we set it to. So wonderful stuff. That is one way to trespass, you know, actually escape from the-- the massive mode mania, if you have a few that you use in a regular-- regular amount, so.
