Overview

With strong visual appeal the all-new 2019 XC40 is a compact crossover that offers premium levels of engineering, equipment, and expressive style. Available in front- and all-wheel drive the XC40 has seating for five. The XC40 is available in Momentum, R-Design and Inscription trims that are intended to offer a distinctive combination of visual and functional features. The XC40 includes a direct-injected 2.0-liter turbocharged engine matched with an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with Start/Stop technology and Drive Mode Select. The front-wheel drive T4 model has 187-hp; the all-wheel drive T5 has 248-hp. Trim dependent equipment includes LED headlamps, digital driver display, panoramic moonroof, keyless entry and drive with handsfree power tailgate, two-tone roof, integrated roof rails, steering wheel paddle shifters, navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and Collision Avoidance by City Safety Technology. Standard and available safety features include Volvo On-Call, Lane Keeping Aid, Driver Alert, Oncoming Lane Mitigation, Pilot Assist Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Surround view camera, Park Assist Pilot, Rear Collision Warning, and seven airbags. For 2020, new standard equipment has been added to all three trims, new paint colors are available and the option packages have been restructured.
