Overview
The MINI Countryman is the largest vehicle in the MINI lineup, offering compact crossover flexibility and space in a unique, highly customizable MINI way. The four-door Countryman is available in both front- and all-wheel (ALL4) drive configurations. The Cooper trim is powered by a 134-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine, while the Cooper S gets a 189-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The new John Cooper Works variant is outfitted with the most powerful engine in the MINI family - a 228-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Transmissions include a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission with available paddle shifters. Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: a panoramic roof, 18-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights, passive entry/start, heated front seats, custom upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control, along with HD radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming, USB port and the MINI Connected infotainment system with smartphone integration and 6.5-inch central display. Safety features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic stability/traction control systems, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera, as well as eight airbags. Redesigned last year, the MINI Countryman carries over with minimal changes for 2018. Most notable is the addition of a John Cooper Works variant to the lineup, featuring a more powerful engine, sport suspension, JCW aerodynamic kit, unique 18-inch aluminum wheels and JCW sport seats.
