Overview

BMW's X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid integrates the best of performance with exceptional efficiency. Using technology inherited from the BMW i8, eDrive combines the sustainability and instant torque of an electric engine with the power of a traditional engine, resulting in 308 combined horsepower and approximately 14 miles of emission-free driving. The X5 eDrive is presented in one all-wheel drive configuration, the xDrive40e. A 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine works with the lithium-powered eDrive motor to generate a combined 308 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode is standard, along with an auto stop/start feature and ECO PRO driver-selectable mode. Standard equipment includes: Panorama moonroof, power tailgate, Dynamic Damper Control with rear air suspension, 19-inch aluminum wheels, Adaptive Xenon headlamps, LED front fog lamps, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming and smartphone integration, as well as a voice-activated navigation system with 10.2-inch high-resolution screen. Safety features on every X5 include anti-lock disc brakes, Dynamic Stability Control with integrated traction control and rollover sensor, front and rear park distance control and BMW Assist eCall, along with six airbags. BMW X5 eDrive is a carry-over for 2018.
