2017 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T R-Line 4dr Sedan

Overview

The Passat is the largest passenger car in the Volkswagen line-up. It has all the refinements and technology expected of a sophisticated German vehicle, but is now built in the USA specifically for the North American driver. The Passat is offered as a front-wheel drive four-door sedan with two engine choices; a 170-hp, 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder or a 280-hp 3.6-liter V6. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with the 1.8T, while a six-speed DSG is standard with the V6. Standard safety features include six airbags, four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, rearview camera, engine immobilizer, Front Assist with emergency braking, blind spot sensor with rear traffic alert on all trims except the base S. All trims above the S include App-Connect smartphone integration and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SEL Premium trims include LED headlights, taillights and daytime running lights, automated parallel parking assistant, lane departure warning, Fender sound system and leather seating surfaces. For 2017, the big news is the addition of Front Assist emergency braking as standard equipment on all trims of the Passat.
