Overview

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is based on the popular Highlander SUV, boasting a more environmentally-friendly gas-electric hybrid engine that delivers excellent fuel economy and lower emissions. The 7-passenger Highlander Hybrid is available in an all-wheel drive configuration only, with two trim levels: Limited V6 and Limited Platinum V6. It employs an advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive system - a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a high-torque electric drive motor-generator - producing 280 net horsepower and mated to an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission. Every Highlander Hybrid is comprehensively equipped with a power rear liftgate, power moonroof, 19-inch aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, heated/ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control and passive entry/push-button start. Along with HD/satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming and a USB port, the standard Entune media system boasts premium JBL audio, as well as Navigation and App Suite, including an 8-inch high resolution touch-screen with split screen display, voice activation, internet access and mobile device integration. Standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic vehicle stability and traction control systems, and eight airbags, along with Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and rear parking sensors with integrated backup camera. Hybrid-related components are backed by an 8-year/100,000 mile warranty. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid carries over unchanged for 2016.
