2016 Porsche Boxster S 2dr Rear-Wheel Drive Convertible

Overview

The Porsche Boxster is a two-seater mid-engine roadster reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 550 Spyder. The rear-wheel drive Boxster is offered in five trim levels: Base, S, GTS, Black Edition, and Spyder. The Base is powered by a 265-hp 2.7-liter flat six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, while the S boasts a 315-hp 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection. The GTS is fitted with a 330-hp 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engine. The Spyder is fitted with a 375-hp 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine. All are mated to a six-speed manual transmission; Porsche's PDK seven-speed double-clutch gearbox, including manual shift mode and steering wheel paddles, is optional. The Boxster is equipped with a power retractable rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, Alcantara/leatherette upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a CDR-31 audio system, including MP3-compatible CD player and universal audio interface; S trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights, and an upgraded sound system. The GTS trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and Alcantara trim. The Black Edition trim features 20-inch alloy wheels and Bi-Xenon headlights. The Spyder gets exclusive equipment, including 20-inch aluminum wheels, locking rear differential and leather/simulated suede sport seats; for enhanced performance, the radio is deleted as weight-saving measure. Standard safety features on both trims include Porsche Stability Management (PSM), ventilated four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front and side seat-mounted airbags with a curtain airbag for head protection, and fixed roll-over protection bars. The 2016 Porsche Boxster is now offered in Black Edition and Spyder trims.
