2016 Acura MDX 3.5L 4dr Front-Wheel Drive

Overview

The Acura MDX offers luxury, outstanding V6 power, standard seven-passenger seating and Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Now in its third generation, the MDX continues to be an aggressive contender in its segment. The MDX is offered in either front- or all-wheel drive configurations. Both are powered by a 290-hp 3.5-liter direct fuel injected V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM); VCM helps improve fuel efficiency by operating on one bank of three cylinders when less engine power is required. It is mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters. An Integrated Dynamics System (IDS), Agile Handling Assist and Amplitude-Reactive Dampers enhance ride and handling characteristics. Every MDX is outfitted with a power moonroof, power tailgate, 18-inch aluminum wheels and "Jewel Eye" LED headlights; interior comforts include heated front seats, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, passive entry/start, satellite radio and a USB port, along with the next-generation AcuraLink system featuring HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity/audio streaming and smartphone compatability. Optional premium amenities packages offer items such as a voice-activated navigation system with AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic, upgraded audio with HD radio and 15 gigabytes of hard drive media storage, 19-inch aluminum wheels, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and an Ultra-Wide Rear Entertainment System (RES) with DVD player and 16.2-inch color display. Standard safety-enhancing features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control and a multi-view rear parking assist camera, along with seven airbags. Other available technologies include front and rear parking sensors, a Blind Spot Information (BSI) system, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow, Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with heads-up warning, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and a new Rear Cross Traffic Monitor. The Acura MDX carries over with minor changes for 2016. Most notably, a new 9-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous model year's 6-speed; additionally, a new AcuraWatch Plus package debuts, featuring a host of innovative safety technologies.
