Overview

The Volkswagen Golf is a compact German hatchback that sets the standard benchmark in a very crowded class. The MkVII Golf is available in two-door, and four-door body-styles. It's powered by either a 170-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine, or a 150-hp 2.0-liter TDI clean-diesel engine. Buyers that go with the gas engine can choose between either a five-speed manual transmission or six-speed Tiptronic automatic; while TDI buyers select from either a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed DSG auto with Tiptronic. Standard safety features on all models include, anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, head restraints at all five seating positions and six airbags. Features like heated seats, leather steering wheel and shift knob, touch-screen audio system with satellite radio, fog lights, leather seats, keyless access with push-button start, power sunroof, alloy wheels and floor mats are all standard or optional throughout the trim range. The 2015 seventh-generation Golf is all-new.
