Overview

The Chevrolet Silverado works hard to live up to its reputation as the 'strongest, most dependable and longest lasting full-size truck on the road'. The 1500 is the 'half-ton', model in Chevrolet's full-size pickup line-up. The Silverado is offered as a regular, double or crew cab all available in both FWD and 4x4. The Regular cabs are available with a 6.5- or 8-foot box, the double cab is available in a 6.6 box while the crew cab gets the choice between a 5.75- or 6.5-foot box. Three engines are available a 285-hp 4.3-liter V6, a 355-hp 5.3-liter V8 or a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8 all mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Active Fuel Management and an eight-speed transmission is also available. Standard features include 17- 18- or 20-inch wheels, satellite radio, bluetooth, OnStar, tracker system with vehicle slowdown and trailer sway control. Trim specific optional equipment includes a heavy duty suspension, hill descent control, heavy duty rear locking differential, remote keyless entry, front and rear park assist, LED cargo box lighting, soft or hard tonneau covers, a bed liner, leather seats, a power sunroof, EZ-lift and EZ-lower tailgate. Several packages are available for each of the different trims. The Rally 1 Edition has black door handles, black mirror caps, spray-on pickup box bed liner, body color grille and end-gate spoiler while the Rally 2 Edition adds 10-way power driver seat adjuster, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote vehicle starter, rear vision camera with dynamic guidance, electric rear-window defogger and black racing stripe. The LTZ Plus Package gets power adjustable pedals, Bose speaker system, Ultrasonic front and rear Park Assist and a leather wrapped heated steering wheel. The All Star Edition has 10-way power driver seat adjuster, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote vehicle starter, radio with 8-inch color touch screen, rear vision camera with dynamic guide lines, electric rear-window defogger. The Texas Edition gets body-colored mirror caps and door handles, a Texas Emblem badging and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The High Country Premium Package has a leather wrapped heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, Ultrasonic front and rear park assist and integrated trailer brake controller. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 adds an eight-speed automatic transmission for 2015.
