The bikes from Ural Motorcycles are designed to take a rider practically anywhere a person could ever want to go, off road. For the company's new Sportsman Package collection for the Gear Up that means a specialization in heading into the woods. With the amount of lighting that this beast can offer in the outdoors, you might not even need to light a fire at night.
There's absolutely no doubt that Ural's Gear Up bike is an already very capable machine, even in the snow. The Sportsman Package brings even more to the table. In addition to the single light already there, customers can spec dual LED fog lights on the sidecar for $200, and another $135 for a main headlight LED. For extra protection from the elements, $1000 buys ceramic undercoating for the sidecar and all three fenders, and there are waterproof coverings for the seat and sidecar for $370. Of course, some folks might want some extra style while on the trails, as well. Ural offers Forest Fog green paint for $1,000 and the mean looking, blacked-out engine and gearbox for another $1,000.
Mechanically, the Sportsman is identical to the standard, rugged Gear Up, which starts at $15,999. The bikes use an air-cooled, 750cc flat-twin engine with electronic fuel injection making 41 horsepower and 42 pound-feet of torque. The mill is hooked up to a four-speed gearbox, and its reverse gear should make maneuvering with the sidecar a lot easier. If riders get really bogged down, the outboard wheel can be powered, as well, for some added traction.
