A Royal Deal: Buy The Queen's Used Car

Only 14,000 miles on the former Jaguar of the Queen of England

If you've always seen yourself as a queen or king, you might want to think about ponying up for this: On sale right now is a 2001 Jaguar Majestic V8 long-wheel-base XJ8 with 14,000 miles and only one former owner: Her Majesty, the Queen of England.

That's right, you could be the proud owner of a car that once chauffeured royalty. The beautiful car was delivered to the Queen in June 2001 with 2,000 test miles on the odometer. Her Majesty added 12,000 miles to the custom Jag's odometer en route to Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, waving from the confines of the backseat with her casual, gloved hand.

Though it may look like any other secondhand luxury car on the outside, the interior is unique. A redesigned armrest to accommodate the Queen's handbag? Check. Special lambskin rugs? Check. Soft leather and unique window switches? Check. A direct line to Downing Street for urgent chats with the Prime Minister? Well, that has been disconnected, but you get the idea.

The Jag comes with the original registration used by the Queen, all original paperwork, service book, spare keys, and photos of the Queen herself driving the car in case you still had any doubt that this was a car built specifically for royalty.

According to the seller - Peter Radcliffe, a specialist memorabilia dealer - the car is in immaculate shape. It has been kept in secure storage at the Jaguar factory and has been "serviced and maintained to perfection" since 2005.

With an asking price of $99,310 on a car otherwise worth about $20,000, we would expect nothing less.
