AMG product offensive in 2006

According to Auto Motor und Sport [via eMercedesBenz and a rough Google translation] and Inside Line Mercedes Benz and its AMG unit are planning a big product push for 2006 that includes the introduction of four vehicles. The list includes the S65 AMG based on the new 2007 S-Class and including a 612-hp V12, the CLK63 AMG with a 482-hp V8, the E63 AMG with a 515-hp V8 and the CLS63 AMG with the same 515-hp V8.
The original article here now claims that AMG’s new 6.3L engine will be rated at 515 hp, which is 10 ponies more than the Corvette Z06’s 7.0L V8 is officially rated. This would on paper make the AMG V8 the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated production V8. Recent dyno tests of the Z06 V8 have shown that the new SAE ratings for it are actually correct, so unless AMG is tweaking its own numbers, we have a weiner, folks.
