GM China sales soar

At last, good news for GM shareholders. Reuters reported today that GM's China sales jumped 27.8 percent to 472,468 units for the first 9 months of 2005. GM sales, led by its passenger car joint venture with Shanghai Automotive, grew significantly faster than the 10.1 percent growth in China vehicle sales in the same period.
In GM's third quarter earnings report, chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner noted that GM's third quarter market share in China was up 2.6 percent to 11.7 percent.
