Mercedes-Benz exemplifies decadence with CL600

Automobile Magazine has an interesting review of the V12-powered, large-bodied coupe: the focus seems to be not on how extremely quick and sumptuous the car is, but rather how out of place the author feels driving it. While 493-hp, 590 lb./ft. of torque and manifold luxury trimmings are nice, the car seems to scream "Look how much freaking money I have!" at all times, which, for the more self-conscious among us, doesn't necessarily make for the most comfortable driving experience. The point that the car makes is one of "over-ness." It's overweight, overlong, overpowered, and at $142,000 with a few superfluous options, overpriced.
