Production of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is finally underway, according to a posting on StingrayForums.com. The first car, a black beauty destined for motorsports icon Rick Hendrick, came off the line yesterday at 9:26 AM, according to the forum poster, who was on a public tour at the lucky moment.
There is no doubt that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was one of the hottest vehicles to debut this week at the Detroit Auto Show, but Autoblog West Coast Editor Michael Harley takes it one step further by calling it the "highest-performing vehicle the North American automakers have ever made." To get a closer look at the 2015 Z06, we grabbed Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter, who gave us more insight about the car and what could possibly make it the ultimate Corvette.
If you were disappointed by the news that Chevy was not planning a new ZR1 version for the C7 Corvette, well, you shouldn't be. But if it's track time you're after, the Bowtie brand may have another trick up its sleeve.
