Corvettes don't float – Click above to watch video after the jump

If there are two indisputable truths in life, they are that a man is not a camel and a Corvette is not a boat. The gentleman above needs to retrieve the C4 Corvette in the shed behind him. The problem is the pool of water between the Corvette and solid ground. His solution is as comical as it is regrettable... and expensive. It did, however, teach us a new way to use the word "yahoo" as a verb. Follow the jump for the fun.

there is a reason for the saying "more money than brains"

I wish they showed him pulling out the water logged air filter...

If I had access to a tractor with a shovel like the one shown at the end, I would put some dirt, level the exit and use some plywood on top, to slowly and carefully roll the car out. What a dumbass!!!

5 seconds of action in a 4 minute clip. I hate the internet.

unless he thought the water was rising too fast, my first thought would have been to take a pickup to the nearest lumber store and get a bunch of cheap 1x8's and some cinder blocks and build a quick bridge or jack it up onto the cinderblocks in the shed. fifty dollars worth of blocks and lumber would have worked.

am I the only one thinking

"If he was that desperate, why didn't he just knock out the back wall of the garage?!"

check 1:15, doesn't look the water surrounds the garage?!

His only problem is that he did not go fast enough.

Ugh. Hydro-lock is a bitch. I was unfortunate enough to be stupid enough to have it happen to me (though I was driving down a road in the rain, not gunning a Corvette out of a barn into a pond). Very expensive.

I'm guessing you had a cold air intake or the like?
why not just leave the car there for a few more weeks until it dries up...
Way to over generalize there Frank. Are you telling me there exists no such video of honda owners, ferrari, lambo, merc, just about every make out there.... doing something stupid?

i own an 08 Z06 -- and have never and would never attempt any crap like this. It says a lot about you when you lump every vette owner in with this D-bag. Whats the make/model of your car? give me 30 seconds and I can find some asshattery video on youtube or streetfire of people doing dumb stuff in the same car you drive.

That being said -- I wasn't that impressed or amused, the only good thing I can say is at least it wasn't a C5 or C6. The car was maybe worth 10K -12K tops.

        @ Frank:
I thought your video was FAR funnier than the C4 getting hydro-locked. What a moron.

        @ Jeff Johnson:
As a Z06 owner, you had to be going OUCH during that video. I know I was.

I agree. Why is it that all Corvette owners are stupid.

MkIV .:R32. Go! Seriously, I haven't searched extensively, but I've yet to see videos of an R blowing up. I'm sure there's got to be some videos of R32 hoonage gone awry.

I've driven a C4 'Vette; they're fun cars, not boats.

Any proper Redneck would know that it's Bo and Luke "DUKE" not Hazzard, they were from Hazzard County!
