CHRISTOPHER MCGRAW: So we're here in Copper, Colorado. We have a number of different test tracks set up for us. We also have this Tesla Model X that we're letting some people take out on the open roads here, checking out the Nokian Hakkapelitta R3 SUV Tire and what that can do even with a modern car such as a Tesla here with high torque and quick acceleration.

Today we're featuring two dedicated winter tires, the Nokian Hakkapelitta R3 and the R3 SUV. The Hakkapelitta R3 and the R3 SUV are dedicated winter tires. We test these tires in Ivalo, Finland at 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle so we know that they'll work in conditions like this.
The Hakkapelitta R3 and R3 SUV made big strides forward for us from its predecessor the R2 in regards to lower rolling resistance as well as improved grip, especially in icy conditions. We were able to do that through new compounding, new tread design, moving on from where we were with the R2.
