JOHN SNYDER: Hello, everyone. This is John Snyder with Autoblog, and today I am driving the 2020 Polestar 2 electric vehicle. It's been pretty cool so far. I've driven her around a little bit, taken it on the highway, driven it around town. But I just wanted to give a quick walk around here, because it's really cool.

Yeah, these-- you know, you see a lot of similarities with Volvo in some places, but in a lot of ways, it's its own thing, too. And Polestar's going to continue to develop its own design language to separate itself from Volvo going forward. So I'm curious to see what the Polestar 3 crossover's going to look like.

But this is the Polestar 2. It's pretty minimalistic, very big and chunky at the bottom with this small greenhouse up top. It looks very muscular, and you know, it is [LAUGHS] to drive.

Of course, no tailpipe or anything. This is the performance version, so it's got these big 20-inch wheels with the Continental SportContact 6 tires. It's got the Brembo brakes developed by Brembo and Polestar, Brembo for the functionality, Polestar for aesthetics and aero.

You don't see the word Polestar many places on here. You can see it right there. Otherwise, it's pretty subdued. Like look at this body color badge.

There's a look at the grill. It's pretty cool. The other place you see the Polestar name, this little decal on the door sill.

And of course, it gives the battery capacity. The usable capacity is 75 kilowatt hours and then 300 kilowatts. It's about 400 horsepower.

And then yeah, it's got-- let's see. This is the key here, also pretty subdued. And I'll pop open the trunk. Power opening.

Pretty spacious trunk. Got sort of this fast back hatch. It's got a built in divider for if you want to hold stuff, so it's not rattling around your trunk. And then below this, there is yet more storage.

And while I'm at it, let me pop the hood. Got some fans going there. And that's where the mobile charger's stored along with the jack. And then if you lift this up, there's a, you know, patch kit and whatnot down below.

And then there's not much else under here. Washer fluid. I'm not exactly sure where the adjustment is for the manually adjusted Ohlins dampers, but it's got them, just like some of the Polestar-engineered Volvos.

But anyway, I'll give you one more walk around from a distance. This is it, the Polestar 2, the launch edition. Launch edition includes-- well, this is-- I'm sorry, this is launch edition with the performance pack. So it's got a lot of stuff going on. It is fun to drive, too. All right, thanks for watching.
