Autoblog Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski gives an exterior walkaround of the 2017 Toyota 86 to see what's been changed from the previous Scion FR-S.
TranscriptJEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: So this is Jeremy Korzeniewski with Autoblog, and this the 2017 Toyota 86-- in fact, three of them here. We're gonna take a quick look externally to see what's changed between the old Scion FR-S and the new Toyota 86.
First thing you see is the front fascia has been redesigned a little bit more aggressive. Take a look at these aerodynamic pieces. Toyota actually says that those do have a positive impact on aerodynamics.
The headlights are new. They're LED. And you can take a look here at the engraved 86 logo there on the side.
This vehicle happens to be equipped with TRD wheels that you can see here. On the side, this used to be an emblem. It's been replaced with this kind of faux wing that again Toyota says acts as a vortex generator and improves aerodynamics. We're not sure how much improvement it makes, but hey, we'll take it.
Down here you'll see a little 86 badge below that on the fender. Moving around to the back. We'll see new tail lights. These also are LED tail lights. It's LED lighting all the way around. The diffuser has been slightly redesigned.
This vehicle's equipped with the TRD exhaust package. We can hopefully get a look at that right now.
Other than that, not much has changed. It's still a pretty good looking car, clearly an aggressive sports coupe, and we think it looks pretty good. Thank you for watching.
