Guns don't kill cars, cars kill people

In response to Senator Mark Madsen's proposed bill to allow Utah residents to carry loaded weapons in their private vehicles, the Daily Herald asked readers in the Industry State if they thought motorists should be allowed to pack heat. The responses range from anti ("We're not LA, we're Utah") to pro ("The only folks who should be scared are criminals") to practical ("Under extreme stress, an individual is more likely to simply go for the trigger [and] fire an unloaded gun"). Twenty-two US states currently allow motorists to carry unloaded weapons in their car/SUV/RV/sidecar.
