Click above to watch the Forza 3 intro video after the jump

Can't wait until Forza 3 hits stores on October 27th? You're in luck! Turn 10 Studios has announced that a demo version will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace starting September 24th, allowing you to get a taste of the improved graphics and new features that will be a part of the third installment of the racing game. The preview includes the full circuit of the Camino Viejo racetrack, a mountain course inspired by roads outside of Barcelona, as well as a selection of five cars:
The demo will also allow you to experience new aspects of the game like the full cockpit view and the rewind feature. As with FM2, damage and rollovers are part of the game, meaning you'll have to avoid the guardrails if you want to cross the finish line in one piece. Need something more to whet your taste? Check out the newly-released Forza 3 intro video after the jump.

Looks great and I dont think NFS can keep up, still NFS is the one Im gonna play, since its the only one for PC. :(

      Will the demo be free?
Dang, looks like I need Xbox LIVE now.....
'Course. It is a demonstration they build for you to feel what the game will be like in general terms. We all know every car fan is going to buy it so it would be more accurate to call it a teaser rather than a demo. Anyhow good job Turn 10.

What is it with the trolls on here?
is this game a simulation or just another crappy arcade like the GT series ?
Yes. If you have Xbox Live Gold you'll have access right away. Silver members usually have to wait a week or two.

Hopefully this demo will be better than the demo for Forza 2.

No wonder there are so many fans of overpriced fancy exotic import cars by today's young whipper snappers. It's all marketing. Kids play the video cames when they're young, and when they grow up, that's what they long to buy.

Marketing to the young works. Grocery stores that give free cookies to kids. Kids meals with fun toys at fast food restaurants. And so on. Embedded happy memories in the subconscious mind last forever.
because no one bought exotics before video games , right ?

...or, "Hey, son, since you've achieved straight As for the last several years, I've decided to give you this xBox 360 as a reward for your hard work!"

        is Gary serious...wow
whipper snappers my ass. plenty of adults play these games too. hell when you get into the simulator end (Forza, Gran Truismo, iRacing, etc) its largely adults taht play them because they dont drive like arcade games.

I thought the Ferrari California had vertically stacked exhaust pipes? If you check the picture gallery, it has regular side by side pipes.

OK, maybe I will get low ranked for this, but why does Forza look so... plastic-ish? I dunno, something looks unrealistic here. Games like GT5, DiRT 2 and NFS Shift look more realistic. Those are just my 2 cents.
correct, forza and nfs aren't about simulating a real race (as GT is) they're about having fun and doing crazy stuff. It's why I've never understood bemoaning the GT franchise for lack of damage. Every time I'm on the track I don't damage my car, every time im driving something with a fair amount of hp on the street I don't go wrecking it, and while GT has added damage the core differences remain. It's like comparing MS' recently retired flight sim to HAWX. Yup they're both allowing you to fly jets but they both have different aims. In GT you sacrifice craziness for accuracy of physics and the most realistic modeling period. For a lot of people it's to sterile and not fun, forza does a great job of striking a middle ground between the hooning of NFS and the sterile (to some) GT
        • 6 Years Ago
Yeah, but it looks a million times better than the previous one. still I know GT5 will look better...but by the time it comes out we'll have Forza 4

        @Zamfir,

You actually couldn't be more wrong. As a programmer, as a total automotive enthusiast and as an avid (read: rabid) video gamer I can tell you that the Forza has taken the top honors for the simulation racer. Gran Turismo used to hold that spot until Forza 2. The things they model in their physics engine are incredible and the cars have more of a 'realistic' feel to their movement and changes you make are interpreted so well into their physics engine. As it stands, GT5 is more like your car porn. I don't think anyone would disagree that it looks better than F3. But what F3 lacks in graphical prowess (which is what OZ was talking about) it makes up for in being the superior simulator.

Don't take my word for it though, 1up.com's recent podcast actually talked about exactly this. Go listen to their ListenUp cast.

        @Zamir

Maybe this will be fixed in GT5, but in GT5P, this isn't very accurate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr2us7TpKqI

We can all debate how accurate a physics model a game uses. We don't have access to the source code, and we don't know how much is modeled, and how well it is. Forza has always considered itself a simulator first. They add assists on top to help the game be more accessible. GT has done the same, in fact, GT has a two physics models, standard and professional. Professional isn't the default -- and that is a shame. GT gives you no reason and no incentive to turn off any of the assists.

If only the fail rate on the XBox360 wasn't 25%, this would push me over the edge to get the XBox360 and this game.
As a 360 owner myself that has gone through several, both replies above are correct. But the failure rate of 50% is because the old ones failed at 100% and the new ones don't have nearly the problems with the new smaller, cooler running chips. Longevity shouldn't be a problem on a new system but get the elite with the hard drive or else you can't use the 2nd DVD with extra cars/tracks w/o a hard drive.
With the current CPU and GPU the failure rates are significantly lower. They have reduced the heat output and the cooling considerably since the launch. If you don't stick your unit in an enclosed space in an entertainment center, it should last for years and years without any trouble. I honestly wouldn't have any qualms about buying any of the three current console systems right now. The 360 and PS3 both just cut $100 off the price, too.
25% you must be daydreaming. Microsoft doesnt dispute claims of failure as high as 54%
i'm not waxing fanboyish here, realistically though i'd say their failure rate is probably close to 40-50%

personal preference for me dictates that i wait for GT5 to come out, but Forza 3 definitly looks the part. if i had bought an xbox 360 i would definitly be purchasing Forza 3. i own a PS3 (lets not debate systems) and i'm eagerly waiting GT5s release.

With that skin, the R8's shape almost resembles a Bugatti Veyron's shape.
