Yes. If you have Xbox Live Gold you'll have access right away. Silver members usually have to wait a week or two.
Hopefully this demo will be better than the demo for Forza 2.

'Course. It is a demonstration they build for you to feel what the game will be like in general terms. We all know every car fan is going to buy it so it would be more accurate to call it a teaser rather than a demo. Anyhow good job Turn 10.

Dang, looks like I need Xbox LIVE now.....
sparrk 12:43PM (9/12/2009)
is this game a simulation or just another crappy arcade like the GT series ?

Sorry for the off-topic comment.
@Autoblog: You guys need to really fix this thumbnail issue. Whenever you click on a thumbnail on the main page or the full article page, it takes you to the 1st picture of the gallery all the time. And then from then on forth, they thumbnails are really indeed thumbnails. I have middle-mouse-clicked so many times, only to have the 1st picture load in all the tabs.
why not the LS2LS7? 12:54PM (9/12/2009)
What is it with the trolls on here?

I just hope the demo is better than the teaser video that's on XBL right now.
With all the cars spinning and crap, it looks like EA made it for NFS Underground 17 1/2.

Of course it will!
OMG!!! Challenger doing a wheelie!!!!! Come on. This is going to be sick.

I don't play video games, I don't even have a system.
Now I am going to have to go out and buy one just so I can play this damn game.
Thanks a lot Forza.

OK, maybe I will get low ranked for this, but why does Forza look so... plastic-ish? I dunno, something looks unrealistic here. Games like GT5, DiRT 2 and NFS Shift look more realistic. Those are just my 2 cents.

I know what you're sayin and I agree, its not the best looking racer. That said, its not entirely crappy looking either :p
Kattleox 12:05PM (9/12/2009)
I know what you mean. Pixel for pixel against Gran Turismo, they are about the same. But GT5 prologue is the only game I have played where people will walk in and say, "so you are watching a race?" Forza looks good, but it can't really compare visually with reality.
My three cents.
zamafir 4:35PM (9/12/2009)
correct, forza and nfs aren't about simulating a real race (as GT is) they're about having fun and doing crazy stuff. It's why I've never understood bemoaning the GT franchise for lack of damage. Every time I'm on the track I don't damage my car, every time im driving something with a fair amount of hp on the street I don't go wrecking it, and while GT has added damage the core differences remain. It's like comparing MS' recently retired flight sim to HAWX. Yup they're both allowing you to fly jets but they both have different aims. In GT you sacrifice craziness for accuracy of physics and the most realistic modeling period. For a lot of people it's to sterile and not fun, forza does a great job of striking a middle ground between the hooning of NFS and the sterile (to some) GT

Yeah, but it looks a million times better than the previous one. still I know GT5 will look better...but by the time it comes out we'll have Forza 4

I have to agree, its weird how autoblog has so much news about the forza series, but nothing to much on Grand Tourismo 5..... the GT series are arguable the BEST racing games... on the PlayStation systems.

@Zamir
Maybe this will be fixed in GT5, but in GT5P, this isn't very accurate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr2us7TpKqI
We can all debate how accurate a physics model a game uses. We don't have access to the source code, and we don't know how much is modeled, and how well it is. Forza has always considered itself a simulator first. They add assists on top to help the game be more accessible. GT has done the same, in fact, GT has a two physics models, standard and professional. Professional isn't the default -- and that is a shame. GT gives you no reason and no incentive to turn off any of the assists.

@Zamfir,
You actually couldn't be more wrong. As a programmer, as a total automotive enthusiast and as an avid (read: rabid) video gamer I can tell you that the Forza has taken the top honors for the simulation racer. Gran Turismo used to hold that spot until Forza 2. The things they model in their physics engine are incredible and the cars have more of a 'realistic' feel to their movement and changes you make are interpreted so well into their physics engine. As it stands, GT5 is more like your car porn. I don't think anyone would disagree that it looks better than F3. But what F3 lacks in graphical prowess (which is what OZ was talking about) it makes up for in being the superior simulator.
Don't take my word for it though, 1up.com's recent podcast actually talked about exactly this. Go listen to their ListenUp cast.

Looks great and I dont think NFS can keep up, still NFS is the one Im gonna play, since its the only one for PC. :(
