Overview
The Dodge Avenger is an attractive midsize sedan with similar looks to a Dodge Charger. The Avenger offers many sporty features and standard equipment found in higher class vehicles. The Dodge Avenger is offered in three trim levels: Express, Mainstreet and Lux. All are powered by a 173-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, mated to either a four-speed automatic (Express) or a six-speed automatic with manual shift mode (Mainstreet and Lux); a 3.6-liter flex-fuel V6 engine is also available. Building on the value-packed Express trim, the Mainstreet adds aluminum wheels, a power driver's seat, automatic climate control and satellite radio. The Lux trim boasts exclusive features that include 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, a rear spoiler, heated front seats and leather upholstery, as well as a multimedia centre with 30 gigabytes of internal memory, USB port, Bluetooth streaming audio and DVD video capability. Safety features found on every Avenger include stability and traction control systems, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, active front head restraints, six airbags, tire pressure monitoring and a security system. For 2011, the Dodge Avenger receives significant upgrades to the interior and suspension, as well as new standard equipment, including stability and traction control systems, 17-inch wheels and LED tail lamps. Additionally, the model lineup gets a revised trim naming convention, and the new Pentastar V6 engine is made available.
