Mustang 'Performance Packs' from Ford Racing Performance Parts

One of the best byproducts of motorsports is trickle-down technology, and Ford Racing Performance Parts is about to drown Mustang fans in some go-fast goodies developed straight from the FR500CC racer that recently earned the Grand-Am Cup Manufacturer's Championship. Three 'Performance Packs' will be announced at SEMA, the first being the FR1 that includes a new mass air meter and Ford Racing premium fuel calibration that results in increased horsepower for the 4.6L V8 and a throatier engine exhaust. The FR2 package, or Drag Pack, includes a new final drive gear ratio of 4.10:1, exhaust headers, short throw shifter and the aforementioned FR1 components. The FR3, or Handling Pack, adds a unique suspension set up developed by the FR500CC engineers that includes dampers, springs, anti-roll bars and a strut tower brace.
