Benz splits C-Class into sport and luxury camps with mid-cycle revamps

The distinct sport treatment yields AMG aero packages for the C230 and C320 Sport Coupes and Sedans, along with actual genuine performance boosters like 17-inch wheels, lowered suspension, stiffer front bushings and a larger rear sway bar. The lux model lineup will essentially be comprised of any non-Sport vehicle, i.e., the regular C240 and C320 sedans plus the C240 wagon. These puppies receive overhauled seats, more decadent interior surfaces and a center console that looks better and richer and makes the driver feel good about shelling out so much for the three-pointed star. The C-Class also finds a new beast in its midst as the C55 AMG arrives later this month, propelled by a 5.5 liter V8 and a healthy $54,000 tag.
