Spyker Cars
While the Spyker name dates back to 1898, the new reincarnation of the Dutch automaker dates to 2000. The C8, with its mid-mounted Audi V8 and extravagant detailing, including plenty of callouts to the original firm's aviation heritage, drew plenty of attention. But sales have never quite been in line with the company's profile. At points, Spyker floundered, showing plenty of concepts but ending up in bankruptcy. Even so, Victor Muller has retained control of his company and even signed a deal with Koenigsegg to produce a V8 engine for its newest car, the C8 Preliator.
