Polestar Vehicles
Founded by a racer who made his name in the Swedish Touring Car racing series, Flash Engineering became Polestar Racing in 2005. It always focused on modifying Volvos, early on for touring car racing, and later road cars. In 2015, Volvo bought the road car division from Polestar's owners, who changed the name of their racing team to Cyan Racing. After producing Polestar-tuned versions of Volvo road cars sold new at Volvo dealerships, Volvo spun Polestar off as its own thing: a performance brand focused on electrification. Its first car, the Polestar 1, is an attractive coupe version of the S90 sedan.
