Oldsmobile Vehicles
Oldsmobile was founded in 1897, and so until its demise in 2004 it was one of the oldest manufacturers around. Its Curved Dash was the first mass-produced car on an assembly line -- Henry Ford made the line move, but Oldsmobile gets credit for the rest. Extremely popular before World War I, the company continued to innovate before and after WWII. The fully automatic transmission? That's Oldsmobile. The first production turbocharged engine? Oldsmobile again. But by the 1970s, despite its popularity, Oldsmobile became more conservative and less innovative. By the 2000s, not even the advanced Aurora could save the company. The last car, an Alero, rolled off the line in 2004.
