Overview
The Kia Niro is an understated hybrid with all the utility buyers demand in the compact crossover segment. The Kia Niro is powered by a 104-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed auto-shift manual transmission, it's paired to a 43-hp electric motor and lithium polymer battery that produce a combined horsepower of 139-hp. Trim specific standard features include 16- or 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, a liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, SiriusXM satellite radio, Pandora internet radio, Bluetooth, an 8-inch touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. The Touring SE and EX Premium trims add heated power folding mirrors with turn signal indicators, 8 harman/kardon speakers, a Clari-Fi digital signal processor, an 10.25-inch touchscreen display, integrated navigation with voice activation and real-time traffic display while the EX Premium trim also gets Park Assist rear parking sensors. Safety features such as seven airbags, a rear view camera, a tire specific low tire pressure warning system, UVO eServices 911 Connect, and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist and Hill Start Assist Control are all standard. The LXS, Touring and EX Premium trims all add a Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RTCA), Pedestrian Detection and a Driver Attention Warning (DAW). The Kia Niro gets a refreshed exterior for 2020 as well as a 10.25 inch display screen as standard on the Touring SE and EX Premium trims.
