Overview
The Hyundai Elantra is a fuel-efficient compact sedan with handsome styling cues. It combines excellent interior space with an extensive list of standard features and safety equipment. The front-wheel drive, five passenger Elantra is available in six trims for 2020: SE, SEL, Value Edition, ECO, Limited and the Sport. The ECO is powered by a 128-hp, 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine paired with a 7-speed EcoShift dual clutch transmission (DCT) which incorporates idle stop and go. The Sport is powered by a potent 201-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI engine paired with a 7-speed DCT with paddle shifters. All other trims are powered by the 147-hp, 2.0-liter engine mated to a new more fuel efficient Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) with Drive Mode Select. Standard safety features on all trims include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control with traction control, seven airbags, forward collision warning assist and lane keep assist. Available features include a power sunroof, turn signal equipped exterior mirrors, 17 and 18-inch aluminum wheels, rear heated seats, leather seating surfaces, Hyundai Blue Link, SiriusXM satellite radio, upgraded Infinity audio system, navigation, Bluetooth and proximity key with push-button start. For 2020, The Elantra introduced the new Smartstream IVT transmission and deleted the 6-speed manual transmission from its lineup. Some new safety features, dual zone automatic temperature control and cruise control were extended to include every trim.
