Ford and Nissan have been scrapping for market share in the very hot small commercial van segment, and now Ram wants in on the party. The 2015 Ram ProMaster City hopes to one-up its main competitors in key categories, making the best do-everything business vehicle in the process. Read on to find out how it fares.
UPDATE: Comparing the disparate specification levels on commercial vehicles especially can be bewildering, but as Ram spokesman Nick Cappa points out, the ProMaster City is only offered in long-wheelbase form (unlike the Ford Transit Connect, for example, that starts in short-wheelbase spec). Just which model is the better bargain, then, is up to each customer to decide.

Now we know what you might be thinking (particularly if you didn't take note of the headline): why would we care about an automaker conducting a facelift on a European cargo van? Normally we wouldn't, only the Fiat Doblo has another name, under which it will be shortly be sold here in America: Ram ProMaster City.
As Sergio Marchionne flies back and forth between Turin and Auburn Hills, he doesn't just bring Chryslers back with him to Italy to sell as Lancias. He also brings Fiat products to sell Stateside under various Chrysler labels, chief among them Ram.
