Picturesque Michigan neighborhood sought for Toyota commercial

Details on who was producing this commercial
are unclear, but Cherry Hill Village, a neighborhood in Canton Township, Michigan, was being scouted to a Toyota
commercial. You might be inclined to say ‘Big Deal!’ What was so funny is the neighborhood was supposed to represent
‘Toyotaville’ and imaginary place where there is a Toyota in every driveway. A resident, Pete Wells, had talked with
the producer and “The theme was everybody has a Toyota or wants one.” The only problem was, many of the neighborhood’s
residents worked for Ford. Clearly this whole commercial wasn’t thought out, because it caused so much controversy that
plans to shoot the commercial there were scrapped. Personally, it is too funny. It would make a great satire if you
picture Toyotaville being like Stepford of The Stepford Wives. Sure everything looks perfect, but deep down
something disturbing is going on. It’s all in good humor, we’re sure robots or mind-controlled zombie people don’t
drive Toyotas. However, Toyota does make robots, and we’re sure Toyota robots would drive Toyota cars.
