Audi Q7 wins its first award

Audi’s upcoming Q7 SUV – a vehicle that won’t be available for another seven months here in the US – has already started its trophy collection. The German magazineBild am Sonntag has awarded it with its Golden Steering Wheel award for best-in-class performance. A jury composed of professional drivers, technical experts, and VIPs (hmm, which one of these is out of place?) drove the unnamed other contenders over a closed-course off-road loop, and also evaluated the vehicles for design, comfort, and available equipment. In the thirty-one years that the award has been handed out, Audi has won it 15 times.
