The New York Auto Show, open to the pubic this week through April 7, is showing off several new luxury and high-end muscle cars.

Why the focus on luxury? Because New York City is where the money is.

Range Rover is showing its all-new Range Rover Sport, 800 pounds lighter than the old one and more fuel efficient. Jaguar is showing a redesigned XJR sedan that puts down a full 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque courtesy of a supercharged 5.0-liter V8.

Chevrolet, not exactly a luxury brand, is showing a new Camaro Z28, which certainly represents the royalty of muscle cars. A few displays over you will find the SRT Viper (formerly known as Dodge Viper, but Chrysler thinks those with $100K+ to spend will appreciate the SRT brand more than Dodge, which is the brand they associate with minivans).

Mercedes-Benz is showing the AMG version of its all-new CLA vehicle, the new entry-level Benz. You can also check out the new Bentley Flying Spur and Rolls Royce Wraith.

AOL Autos editor-in-chief David Kiley will also tell you why he chose the all-new redesigned Cadillac CTS as his Car of the Show.
