The Geely GE is how you say "Um... really?"

Just like some folks in the U.S. buy the Chrysler 300C for its supposed resemblance to more expensive machinery, Geely has designed a faux Phantom for the Chinese market. The 17.5-foot long executive mover comes loaded for bear, with isolation glass and wool carpet just like a real Rolls-Royce.
If you're interested, you better like traveling alone – the rear compartment has one center-mounted seat tucked between a contoured bulkhead, like a throne. It even has what appears to be a starlight headliner, but only above the emperor's chair. According to the Chinese site, when compared to the Phantom, the Geely GE "gives the very same feeling of luxury." It might even come with a scepter. Check out the gallery of photos below, and then let us know how to say "Wow..." in Chinese.

And to think that I thought that the Lexus RX knock-off was impressive. Can't wait to see the crash test videos of this one!

This one is supposed to be based on London Cab that Geely is building in China.

It will crumple like a taco shell in a crash test.
I'm not laughing at Chinese cars though because when they eventually get it right that will be the true end of American auto manufacturers

The steering wheel looks like they ripped it out of a Saab.
And I think the "starlight headliner" is actually a big moon roof... they just photoshopped in some stars because Chinese exec's love nights under the stars in their Geely's

Nothing like rendered speculation to bring in the flames and calls of "rip-off."
I'll believe it when I see it.

Flames?
Looks like they pimped the hideous Chrysler Imperial concept car from a few years back!!! "Flames" (as you call 'em) are deserved IMO

Totally agreed, if Geely is really serious about this they deserve a slap across the face for ruining a (relatively) good job they were doing at staying away from car cloning.
But what you see here isn't anything concrete, just rendered pictures. So dunno.

What makes you think these are renderings? The Geely GE is scheduled to be unveiled at Beijing at the end of April, so why wouldn't they release real photos to gain some buzz?
I could see the interior shots possibly being rendered, but the outdoor photos of the exterior look real enough to me...
LOL: at least you didn't call this "vaporware" like you did the Volt!

KILL IT WITH HELL FIRE!

@letstakeawalk "What makes you think these are renderings?"
The big give away are the stars you can see through the moon roof. With all of the air pollution in China, a real view would be a toxic gray cloud.

How's a pimp gonna get his freak on with only one seat?

notice the ample amount of soft carpeting....
Sektor 4:04PM (3/30/2009)
Exactly. This is one of the most stupid ideas ever, even coming from Geely.
Let's hope it never comes to fruition to not embarrass us with its sole existence.

B&*ch gotta sit on the floor or be givin' a lap dance. Playa!

Install a pole in the middle. Keep a girl dancin' and deal through a cracked window.

I like the way the front-wheel drive proportions work with the RR styling.
And the single back seat, that's just strange. Has kind of an isolated Last Emperor feel about it.
lcao3 9:53PM (3/30/2009)
OK!?!.... this is one expensive "baby" seat....
