It seems like the same environmentalists that are threatening the classic car industry in this country are also
taking aim at Italy. The little Fiat 500 has been targeted in new legislation that would ban any car from the Itallian
road without a catalytic converter. The Fiat 500 is a symbol of Italy the same way that the ’57 Chevy or 64 ½ Mustang
is a part of the U.S. This kind of legislation against historic cars is silly. I use my Avanti sparingly and I think
that the government is better served spending its time on other things. How many 1978 Cordobas have you been behind,
all run down, worn fine Corinthian leather flapping in the breeze and belching more smoke than my well maintained
Studebaker ever will.
Save the Fiat 500
