Both the top of the line 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan and Acura RL are equipped with sound canceling audio systems
that use sound wave to reduce exhaust and engine noise. This active noise control system utilizes a microphone that
monitors sound in the cabin and then produces a canceling sound wave that neutralizes it, much like sound canceling
headphones work. Mark Phelan of The Detroit Free Press says the results are mixed and even though the Odyssey is
quieter than in 2004 it doesn’t compare to plain old Toyota Siennas and Chrysler Town & Country.
