The next incarnation of the Ford Focus in the United States will not share the global C1 platform of the new Mazda3,
Volvo s40 and European Ford Focus. Everyone get out your tissues. Ford will build the next Focus on the current North
American platform called C170. It seems Ford can’t resolve the higher price of the C1 platform here in the states for
its entry level model. They also don’t want the next generation to run into any quality glitches like when the original
Focus launched. Just one more reason for people to buy the Mazda3.
