So Autoblog has been overrun with VW news today, but I’ve still got one last tidbit to share: in Europe’s largest
independent comparison test, the new Golf took home top honors in the sub-20,000 euro segment, beating out the Seat
Altea and Skoda Fabia. The test is conducted by company car fleet managers from various industries, and rates the
vehicles according to handling, practicality, comfort, design and price. The win is a major plus for VW, as fleet sales
comprise one-third of its new car sales in Europe. News about the fifth-gen Golf has been overwhelmingly positive,
which bodes well for the car’s U.S. introduction next year, when hopefully it will be available as an Autoblog company
car.
