Overview

The 2027 Lincoln Aviator midsize 3-row luxury SUV approaches luxury with the confidence of a vehicle that knows most owners would rather glide than carve corners. Sharing its foundations with the Ford Explorer, this midsize SUV trades athletic ambition for a cushioned ride, expressive styling, and a cabin inspired by midcentury design. It’s a comfortable alternative to the usual European suspects.

Its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 produces up to 400 horsepower, or 383 horsepower in Green States, and 415 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic feeds either the rear wheels or an available all-wheel-drive system. Acceleration feels appropriately urgent for something this plush, while standard BlueCruise handles hands-free driving on compatible highways with driver supervision.

What’s New for 2027

The Aviator receives a modest update for 2027, with three fresh paint colors: Asher Gray Metallic (left below), Avalanche Gray (center below), and Ruby Red Metallic (right below). Reserve models equipped with the Jet Appearance Package can also wear a contrasting black-painted roof (right below), giving this otherwise dignified family hauler a little extra attitude.

Every trim includes four years of the Lincoln Security Package, covering theft alerts, engine start inhibition, stolen vehicle assistance, and insurance deductible reimbursement. The mechanical recipe remains familiar, which suits an SUV already more interested in soothing its occupants than chasing reinvention.

Exterior

Lincoln gives the 2027 Aviator a broad grille, slim LED headlights, and tidy bodywork that makes nearly 200 inches of SUV look surprisingly well-tailored. The long hood and clean profile create a handsome silhouette, while the quad exhaust outlets offer a reminder that there’s a serious V6 under the hood.

Standard 20-inch wheels supply plenty of presence, and Black Label’s larger 22-inch designs turn up the theater. Available adaptive lighting and the Jet Appearance package add visual polish, while the hands-free, approach-activated power liftgate makes grocery runs rather less ceremonial.

Interior

Inside, the Aviator leans into quiet luxury with warm trim, soft surfaces, and distinctive piano-key gear selectors. Supportive front seats and a comfort-oriented suspension make long drives appealing, although the third row has the proportions of a place where adults are invited only briefly.

A 13.2-inch touchscreen anchors the Lincoln Digital Experience, pairing Google-based functionality with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Physical climate controls remain refreshingly practical. Second-row captain’s chairs mean the Aviator can seat six in Premiere and Black Label trims, while Reserve offers an optional 3-seat bench to increase seating capacity to seven. Black Label adds lavish 30-way front seats, massage functionality, and a 28-speaker Revel sound system.

Price Range and Best Value Trim

TrimMSRP
Premiere RWD$57,495
Premiere RWD$59,495
Reserve RWD$67,295
Reserve AWD$69,295
Black Label AWD$85,910

The 2027 Lincoln Aviator’s price range spans a few trims, but the Reserve makes the strongest financial case. For $9,800 more than the base Premiere, it adds premium leather seating, a panoramic Vista Roof, ventilated front seats, 4-zone climate control, wireless charging, and access to upgraded Revel audio. Crucially, its V6 delivers the same output as the considerably pricier Black Label, so spending more buys exclusivity rather than extra muscle.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Muscular twin-turbo V6 and relaxed highway manners
  • Comfortable, distinctive cabin
  • Four years of BlueCruise included
  • Well-equipped Reserve trim

Cons:

  • Tight third row
  • Unremarkable fuel economy
  • Uninvolving handling
  • Some expensive optional features

Verdict

The 2027 Lincoln Aviator understands its assignment: make the commute less exhausting and the highway feel shorter. Strong V6 power, a comfortable ride, and generous technology give it convincing luxury credentials, even if the third row and fuel economy keep it from a clean sweep. The Reserve offers the most sensible balance of equipment and price, leaving Black Label to buyers who want the full VIP treatment.
