Overview

The 2027 Acura ADX subcompact luxury SUV is still quite fresh from its 2025 redesign and received a new paint color last year, so it will cruise mostly as is into the new model year. There are three trim levels, each powered by the same turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine developing 190 hp; you can choose between FWD or AWD, but get a CVT automatic either way.

It sits on the same platform as the Integra and Hondas like the Civic and CR-V, but it gets more upscale Acura treatment and a long list of standard features and driver assists, though the Honda genes still shine through, and we wish the roomy and comfortable ADX felt a little more premium.

What’s New for 2027

The only change to the 2027 ADX is that Acura is adding the Google Gemini AI assistant to the ADX A-Spec Advance late in the model year.

Exterior

The ADX looks smart, with premium styling, sharp Chicane LED DRLs and slim-line headlights, and the typical pentagonal Acura grille, so it looks like a swollen Integra hatchback. It’s not trying to look rugged, with a lower stance and sizable 18-inch wheels, even on the base trim; the top trims get 19s. At nearly 186 inches long, it’s bigger than most subcompacts but priced lower than most. The A-Spec Advance has blacked-out exterior trim and mirrors. A power liftgate is standard, with hands-free access and walk-away auto-close on the top trim.

Interior

The ADX is commendably spacious for a subcompact, with over 37 inches of rear legroom, so adults will be comfortable, even in the rear. Closer inspection reveals that the cabin materials are not as upscale as one would expect from a proper Acura, though it’s solidly enough screwed together.

Standard features include the AcuraWatch driver-assistance suite (including auto braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic-sign recognition), heated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 9.0-inch touchscreen with 8-speaker audio, wireless smartphone integration, Wi-Fi, and a wireless charging pad. The A-Spec Advance also gets Google built-in, the Gemini AI assistant, HD Radio, and 12-speaker B&O audio.

Price Range and Best Value Trim

The 2027 Acura ADX’s price has not been released at the time of writing, so the estimates below are based on the latest available information:

TrimFWD MSRPAWD MSRP
ADX~$36,000~$38,000
A-Spec Package~$39,200~$41,200
A-Spec Advance~$43,400~$45,400

The mid-range $39K A-Spec is still the best buy, giving you items like 19-inch wheels, LED fog lights, rear-seat USB ports, microsuede seat inserts, a power passenger seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a panoramic moonroof, and an A-Spec interior and exterior styling package for less than $40K, while keeping the same base powertrain.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Many standard features
  • Attractive styling and a sporty A-Spec option
  • Enough space for four adults
  • Good cargo capacity for a subcompact
  • Strong powertrain warranty

Cons:

  • Performance adequate, not exciting
  • Dull CVT
  • Cabin not quite as upscale as it should be
  • Top trims get expensive

Verdict

The ADX provides a premium badge and near-compact dimensions with a spacious cabin at a subcompact price, and its smart styling and high spec level are solid selling points. It feels near-premium inside, though, more like a Buick than a Lexus, though the low price does compensate to an extent. The engine pulls fairly well, but performance is only just adequate, and the dull CVT detracts from the driving experience. The ADX will appeal to people looking for a spacious, safe, and well-equipped near-luxury subcompact, but it doesn’t lead its class.
