From a automotive clay modelers perspective or some 20 years, Peter Horbrys comments are a bit off the mark. Yes it's quicker to mill a model on a 5 axis machine but what is always left out of the equation is the time spent by the CAD guys doing the computer work. Some designers have the impression that because you can't see the model in the studio taking shape it takes a matter of hours, not true. Yes it takes a lot of the hard manual work out of constructing the first shot, but this BS about a little tweak here and there is not true, if it were why do a full size clay at all, GM tied to go clay-less lost all there experienced guys to the computer and payed the price by not having experienced clay modelers when the time was needed.
