Spy Shot: Chinese-built Dodge Breeze caught
The Dodge Breeze is A #1. Or, rather, it's an A1. Chinese automaker Chery's deal with Chrysler LLC to produce small cars for Chrysler's three brands begat the little buzz-about you see above. The photo appeared on a Chinese forum and is supposedly the Chinese Plymouth Dodge Breeze, one of the aforementioned adventures in rebadging. The cars produced as a result of the agreement would not be limited to China, as the low-end rides would be sold in other developing markets, and high-end cars will be destined for others. The Breeze would be a Chinese-built car that gives Dodge a presence in the minicar segment. It also has the honor of dragging (if obliquely) The Brand Formerly Known As Plymouth back into our lives, though we really wish they would have gone with Volare.

No. From anything I've read, those are separate projects. This car is not destined for the US/Canada market.

Not an offensive looking car.
However if I was a resident of Mexico looking to save my peso's but buying a new car at the same time I'd be in the Peugeot dealership.

The cheapest Peugeot offering here in Mexico is about 2k dollars more expensive than Dodge's rebadged Hyundai Atos... And the Peugeot I'm talking about is a last-gen 206. The 207 cost about the same than the Dodge Charger.

I guess you don't get the point.
The Chinese cars are BAD because they are unsafe and poorly assambled.
The Big 3 rebadged Chinese car made in the same plant as the other chinese is safe and ooohhhh so well put together. Anyways, when it's rebadged it's Detroit making the profit.

I have no problem with importing cars from foreign countries.
I do have a very large problem with trading with oppressive dictatorships. Look at what's going on in Tibet right now and tell me you can buy this car with a clear conscience.

So it's okay for the USA to take land from the Native Americans and Mexico but somehow China is not supposed to defend its own sovereignty? Not to mention that the Autonomous Region of Tibet would have a heck of a time trying to financially sustain itself if the Chinese government were to ever let go of it for whatever reason. I would be shocked if most Tibetans actually even want to be an independent nation.
We can't let the media brainwash us. It's not that hard to think and learn on our own some of these things. I promise I'll try not to get political on Autoblog again.
