Faraday Future is
documenting its efforts to prepare its electric vehicle to compete in Colorado’s Pikes Peak race with a new video series. The first installment of the series, appropriately called “Testing the FF 91,” is a two-minute video showing the car going through its paces at California’s Crows Landing testing ground.

The video shows the car’s dynamic vehicle control features, and specifically its four-wheel steering, torque vectoring, and semi-active dampers, all of which will hopefully prevent the car from going off the hill during one of the race’s 156 turns. Judging by the video, the car looked quite solid during its slalom testing. Donuts need not apply.

The California-based startup, which is planning to debut sales of the model sometime next year,
indicated earlier this year that it would enter the race, which involves 4,720 vertical feet of climbing. Faraday Future will take on the Tesla Model S P100D for electric-vehicle bragging rights, and will employ principal engineer Robin Shute as the race’s driver. The company is also working with established auto-sport suppliers such as Pirelli and Recaro on its racing efforts.

Faraday Future
first revealed the FF91 at Las Vegas’s CES in January. The car will boast a 130-kWh battery pack providing a single-charge range of 378 miles as well as more than 1,000 horsepower. The sticker
price hasn’t been revealed yet, though it’s expected to be in the $150,000 to $200,000 range.
