Didn’t we just discuss the NA market for SEAT in the
post introducing the new Leon? “North America is the next sensible step strategically,” SEAT head Andreas Schleef said
in an interview with German newspaper, Automobilwoche.
SEAT is a part of the Volkswagen Group and
has plans to sell the cars through Audi dealerships. The current cars do not conform to U.S. standards making the
launch impossible before 2008. At that time the next-generation SEATs would be built in Mexico for the NA
market. Seems like they have this pretty well thought out. The new SEAT Leon (above) uses the VW Golf platform. Hey
look! They have a Cordoba! I bet it
doesn’t have fine, Corinthian leather seats.
