SsangYong Kyron

SsangYong was the other Chinese automaker with a presence at the Frankfurt show (we told you about Geely in a
previous post). The company is very well established in Europe and has almost completed a continent-wide distribution
network. Having been absorbed by SAIC, SsangYong is now in a better position to offer more competitive products, the
first of which is the Kyron, the company’s third SUV in a three-model lineup.

The Kyron features a brand new four-cylinder 2.0L diesel developed completely inhouse by SsangYong that offers best
in class power. The SUV itself is not particularly attractive when compared to its competitors, but it?s way more
pleasing to the eye than the other two models the company offers. SsangYong is hoping to sell 35,000 units during the
first year the Kyron is on sale, a target which it will probably meet considering the low-priced SUV comes standard
with such features as a five-speed auto, stability control and hill descent control and active rollover protection.
