Look out Mazda, General Motors might be coming after your MX-5 in Europe,
too.
Just weeks after Mazda crowned Europe as its new favorite market for the MX-5 (Mazda recenly
lowered projections for the Miata in the US due to
competition from the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky), GM has announced that the Saturn variety of its new golden
child may play in that sandbox, too — as an Opel. The weak dollar makes this prospect especially appealing to GM, whose
Zeta platform is unlikely to be brought to the U.S. for
the same reason.
