Here’s a funny little twist on reporting: GM is recalling over 700,000 minivans and Toyota is
“replacing” a seatbelt part in 150,000 ES and Camry sedans. I guess Toyotas don’t get recalled. GM has a problem with
the power-sliding doors on the Minivans with people and children getting their hands stuck. Not a good problem to have
on a minivan. The Toyotas are being recalled to replace a part that may not automatically tell that there is a child
seat in the front passenger seat and not suppress the airbag deployment. Let’s hope 2005 does not repeat this year of
recalls.
